Pettibone Lake
This sandy bottom lake features a casual resort community feeling surrounded by cottages. To the south of the lake you will find the Manistee National Forest with over 1,600 acres of federal forest land. On the sandy shores of Pettibone Lake in Northern Newaygo County, approximately four miles north and east of Bitely. This small 2.3 acre day-use only park overlooking beautiful Pettibone Lake offers great fishing with a swimming beach, boat launch, and picnic shelter (first come, first serve) and picnic grills. No camping is permitted, and a motor vehicle pass is required.
