2026 State of Emergency – Newaygo County River Flooding Information
Beginning Sunday, April 12th, 2026, our region saw an unprecedented rise in river water due to snow melt and rainfall. Many areas adjacent to rivers and streams have been impacted by flood waters. Some roads have been washed out, some waterway access points have been compromised, and some homes and businesses have experienced flooding. Additionally, river water is flowing at a rate that far exceeds normal conditions, making them potentially hazardous for activities such as fishing and paddling.
For your safety, please take precautions prior to determining your route of travel or heading out to the waterways of our county during this time.
