Wildlife Exploration
The Huron Manistee National Forest is flush with wildlife viewing opportunities, allowing visitors opportunities to view wildlife in a natural habitat. With over 400 known bird species and almost 200 other species of wildlife, the Forest is home to a wide variety of inhabitants, making this a perfect destination for watching, hunting, or fishing throughout the year.
Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary
This sanctuary consists of a 1.5-mile hiking trail, a small lake, marsh, and wooded area. There are over 150 different species of plants, wildflowers, trees, and vegetation with posts that correspond to the trail guide. Picnic area with grills and outhouse is available for use near the trail access point.
