Great news from the S.F. Wessling Observatory!  Read on to learn more, or visit their new website: http://www.newaygocd.org/kropscott-and-observatory.html

We are pleased to announce that the S. F. Wessling Observatory will conduct its first 2021 Star Party on Saturday July 24th, 2021, at 9:00 p.m.

The Newaygo County Dark Sky Astronomers (NCDSA) operate the Observatory on behalf of the Newaygo Conservation District. NCDSA is implementing the following procedure to assure that all attendees and NCDSA members are safe and equipment is maintained in a manner that supports that goal.

Although masks are not required to attend Star Parties on or after July 24th, we are requiring that ALL NCDSA members and attendees wear a mask when physically looking through the telescopes. This will minimize potential cross contamination when using the eyepieces. Note, if you are a member or attendee that brings your own telescope, a mask is not required.

Astronomy is an amazing and educational hobby for the entire family. We strongly encourage you to join the NCDSA club which uses the Observatory on a regular basis. You do not have to be knowledgeable about the cosmos, just have a desire to enjoy the awesome night sky!

We appreciate your support and patience and look forward to reopening the observatory and sharing with you the improvements and additions made during last year.

Clear skies!
